Noctilucent Clouds are not normal clouds. They consist of ice crystals and are located above the mesosphere, in the mesopause, in a height of about 81 to 85 km. They can be usually only observed in latitudes between ±50° and ±70° in June and July, shortly after sunset or before sunrise.
